The Col d’Aspin

Love biking? Me too! Currently a BMW GS1200 adventure but for 10 years previously an 1100RT. This is biking paradise. The passes and gorges are stunning and the views incredible. Your machine will be safely parked in our courtyard and in poor weather other guests usually will offer you a lift. 2 Wheels or 4, some of the “musts” are the Col de Tourmalet, Gavarnie, the Chateaux of Lourdes and Capvern, The Donjon des Aigles falconry centre and the Castle of Ainsa in Spain. In France the bike is King and other road users surprisingly respectful – they will often pull aside to let you pass.
More and more bikers are coming to visit  as the uncrowded roads and spectacular views are quite a magnet. It’s fun to organise a small group and visit the wilder parts of Spain, easily reached within a couple of hours drive.
You don’t need a big superbike either! Mountain roads favour smaller capacity engines as you can’t drive fast and you are here to see the scenery not win a Grand Prix!
We often have groups of bikers coming down and it’s great to go out together on excursions and picnics.
